Apartment!

And I forgot to mention in the previous post but Jina and I will be living in an apartment off campus (my choice. I've never lived on campus and I think it would feel weird to do so now). Jina looked at the apartment we will be renting last week and sent me pictures. I really liked the place and am excited to be living with her.

It is a small one-room apartment, but there is a bathroom, a small kitchen area, and a washing machine. Jina told me it is about the size of a dorm room in Miller Hall, so we may be cramped, but I don't mind. I have only ever shared a room with my brother when I was a kid, and I've always wanted to have a sister. I think living with Jina will be about the closest I can get to that feeling.

What our room will probably be crowded like this (one mattress with bed frame and one on the floor)

Papers are sent off!

Well, it's been a while since I last updated.
School has ended and my paperwork should be in Ms. Kong's hands now. Britta copied everything, saved a copy for herself, gave a copy to me, and she gave Ms. Kong the originals this week at a conference. Britta was going to send the papers, but when she realized she would be seeing Ms. Kong in person, she thought it would be safer to hand them to her personally, and this would also give her a chance to put in a good word for me. :) I don't know how I would have made it through the paperwork process without Britta.

Currently, I am worried about the H1N1 flu (swine flu). Jina informed me recently that about 20 Americans teaching in Korea currently have contracted the H1N1 flu, and she is worried that because of this, TaLK will be cutting back the number of applicants they accept from America. I am hoping that even if that happens, I will still be accepted.
I read though my essay and my letters of recommendation yesterday and it calmed my nerves a bit. I feel confident in myself.

I suppose that's all for now.
I will not know I am going to Korea for sure until at the latest, July 10th. That is when all contracts must be accepted. But I guess that brings up another thing I am worrying about. The contracts are sent out to our e-mails, and I will be in Montana during that time. I am hoping I will have access to the internet every day so that I can check my e-mail non-stop during that time.
